![]() ![]() On 03 February 1956, the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) transferred 3.88 acres of land to the United States Air Force for use as a low altitude gap filler radar installation. Site improvements included one 1,520 square foot concrete block building, diesel power generator, radar tower, three 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs), security fencing, and an access roadway. In 1961, BLM requested the return of the property to use as storage for its range improvements and weed control program materials. The total 3.88 acres were relinquished to BLM with a letter dated 01 August 1961 and officially retransferred to BLM in a letter dated 27 October 1961. Due to the fact that the site is currently in u se by the Department of Navy, this site is ineligible for the DERP-FUDS program.
