![]() ![]() In 1930, the U.S. Army used this 3,184 acre land to construct a dam which supplied water to Fort Douglas. By 1970, the site was transferred to the U.S. Forest Service where it was used as a nature area; however, the Army had a right of way for a pipeline from the dam to Fort Douglas. In 2004, the area was transferred to the Central Utah Water Conservatory District and is now closed to the public except for research done by the University of Utah. In 2003, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its agents visited the site. Based on the site visit, records researched, and interviews conducted, it was determined that no adverse or potentially adverse environmental hazards exist related to Department of Defense use. As a result, the site has been recommended for No Further Department of Defense Actions Indicated (NDAI) Status.
