![]() ![]() In the late 1950's, the Gold Hill Instrumentation Annex was used by the United States Air Force as a 309A weapons system instrumentation site. The 21 acre site, located on a mountaintop in Tooele County, approximately 60 miles southeast of Wendover, Utah, appears to be used as an unattended communications station. The land was re-transferred to its previous owner, the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management in 1960 and currently contains a wooden utility pole, an enclosed and padlocked steel instrumentation shelter, and four rectangular concrete foundations. These foundations are suspected footings which support a generator used to power the instrumentation shelter. In the spring of 2003, staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its agents visited the site. Based on the site visit, records researched, and interviews conducted, it was determined that no adverse or potentially adverse environmental hazards exists related to Department of Defense use. As a result, the site has been recommended for No Further Department of Defense Actions Indicated (NDAI) Status.
