![]() ![]() In 1954, the property was used as a beacon site by the United States Air Force. The 5 acre site, located in Box Elder County, approximately 2 miles west of Rosette, Utah, was transferred back to the Department of the Interior in 1956. The land contained a small wooden framed structure, portable instrumentation, and power units. The only Department of Defense (DoD) remnant is the wooden framed structure, which is now collapsed. The property is currently family owned and used for livestock grazing. In the spring of 2003, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its agents visited the site. Based on the site visit, records researched, and interviews conducted, it was determined that no adverse or potentially adverse environmental hazards exist related to DoD use. As a result, the site has been recommended for No Further Department of Defense Actions Indicated (NDAI) Status.
