In the early 1940's, the United States Military used the site as a machine shop to repair vehicles and heavy equipment. The 5 acre property, located 2.75 miles southwest of Salt Lake City, Utah, is currently divided into two 2.5 acre parcels. The northern parcel is owned by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, while the southern is privately owned and used to operate a restaurant/bar.

There were 3 underground storage tanks on the site, which have been removed. A total of 8 Quonset huts are located throughout the property and all are being reused as offices, storage areas, and maintenance shops.

From the fall of 2002 through the spring of 2003, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its agents visited the site. Based on the site visits, records researched, and interviews conducted, it was determined that no adverse or potentially adverse environmental hazards exist related to Department of Defense use. As a result, the site has been recommended for No Further Department of Defense Actions Indicated (NDAI) Status.
