Starting in the early 1940's, the Quartermaster Corps of the United Sates Army used the Ogden Nature Center to store, ship, and receive military branch supplies. In the late 1940's, the property was also briefly used for military training and as a disposal area for metal drums. The 1678-acre site, located in Weber County, Utah, approximately 40 miles north of Salt Lake City, is currently closed under Base Realignment and Closure II.

In the fall of 2002, staff from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its agents visited the site. Based on the site visit, records researched, and interviews conducted, they confirmed that the contaminated soil, metal drums, and other potentially hazardous materials were removed and that the site was restored to its original condition. No additional adverse or potentially adverse environmental hazards exist related to Department of Defense use. As a result, the site is recommended for No Department of Defense Actions Indicated (NDAI) Status.
